US Research Foundation announces patent infringement lawsuit around Bluetooth

The Washington Research Foundation is seeking damages from Nokia, Samsung and Panasonic (Matsushita) concerning radio frequency receiver technology related to Bluetooth. The Foundation claims that the Bluetooth chips that these companies use, which are supplied by UK-based Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR), infringe its patent.

CSR claims that “the suit is without merit in relation to CSR's Bluetooth chips and CSR will defend its products vigorously”.
