iPhone Enters New Territory as O2 Announces Prepaid Plan

On 1 September 2008, O2 in the UK confirmed it will offer Apple's iPhone 3G on a prepaid tariff from 16 September. The phone and plan will also be available from Carphone Warehouse. An 8GB version will cost £349.99 and the 16GB model will be £399.99. The purchase price will include unlimited browsing and access to the Wi-Fi networks of The Cloud and BT Openzone for the first 12 months. O2 is offering the prepaid iPhone in conjunction with its Favourite Place tariff, although users can switch to other prepaid tariffs.
