Two's Company, Three's a Crowd as Orange and Vodafone End O2 UK's iPhone Monopoly

On 28 September 2009 Orange announced that it had reached an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone 3G and 3GS in the UK later in 2009. The agreement means Orange now sells the iPhone in 28 markets globally.

This was followed by an announcement from Vodafone on 29 September 2009 that it has also signed an agreement to begin selling the iPhone 3G and 3GS in the UK and Ireland in 2010. Neither operator unveiled details of launch dates or pricing.
