On 5 and 6 July 2012, Telefonica Digital hosted Beyond Connectivity, an investor and analyst event in London. It was hosted by the chairman and CEO of Telefonica Digital, Matthew Key, and included presentations from senior Telefonica staff, including CEO Cesar Alierta Izuel.

Telefonica made a number of announcements during the event. These included support for Mozilla's newly launched Firefox OS mobile platform, separate agreements with Visa and Etisalat, and a direct-to-operator billing deal with Google, Facebook, Microsoft and RIM.
