At Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference on 6 June 2011, the company revealed it had sold 25 million iPad tablets in 14 months. Despite a flurry of rival tablets, few have made any significant impact. In April 2011, Motorola revealed its Android-based Xoom tablet had shipped 250,000 units. On 15 June, Acer reduced its full-year shipment target for tablets by almost 60 percent; it now aims to sell 800,000 tablets in each of the second and third quarters of 2011.
