News:

Sony Ericsson has announced a TV phone for the Japanese market. The device (W44S) will be sold for use on KDDI’s CDMA 1X EVDO au network and will cost approximately ¥25,000 ($210).

The W44S supports the Japanese “one-seg” digital TV standard, features a 3.2 mega pixel camera and stereo speakers. It has a hinge mechanism that looks similar to Nokia’s N93.

In an unrelated announcement the CEO of Ericsson indicated that there may be opportunities for Ericsson to work with Sony on ventures beyond its mobile devices joint venture.
