Sony Ericsson May Dispel Economic Gloom Despite Further Profit Warning

On 27 June 2008 Sony Ericsson announced that its performance in the second quarter of 2008 "continued to be negatively affected by moderating demand of mid-to-high end mobile phones, in combination with a delay of new products shipped during the quarter". The company has indicated that it is unlikely to make a profit in the second quarter, predicting shipments of about 24 million phones and an average selling price of €115.
