On 27 June 2008 Sony Ericsson announced that its performance in the second quarter of 2008 "continued to be negatively affected by moderating demand of mid-to-high end mobile phones, in combination with a delay of new products shipped during the quarter". The company has indicated that it is unlikely to make a profit in the second quarter, predicting shipments of about 24 million phones and an average selling price of €115.
