Research In Motion's (RIM's) annual BlackBerry DevCon Americas developer conference took place in San Francisco from 18 to 20 October 2011. This year's event was particularly significant as it marked the first formal articulation of RIM's next-generation software platform and its components, collectively dubbed BBX.
