Power of iOS and Android Pushes Up Stakes in War for Developers

On 26 March 2012, Microsoft and Nokia announced they would each invest up to €9 million in a new mobile application development program at Aalto University in Finland. The money will be available over the next three years to foster the creation of applications for the Windows Phone, Symbian and Series 40 operating systems.

Ahead of BlackBerry World, which takes place on 1 to 3 May 2012, RIM has announced it will give several thousand attendees early hardware running BlackBerry 10 OS. The move is part of efforts to ensure developers produce applications for the new platform.
