On 16 January 2012, Ingenico and AJB Software Design announced separate partnership deals with PayPal at the National Retail Federation (NRF) 101st Annual Convention in New York. Both companies plan to integrate PayPal's payment service into their current point-of-sale (POS) terminals for retail stores. PayPal shoppers will be able to pay for items with funds from their PayPal account by entering log-in details into a POS terminal.
On 26 January 2012, PayPal announced in its company blog that it will start the second phase of a pilot program testing in-store PayPal payments at Home Depot stores. The initial trial was restricted to a small number of PayPal employees at five Home Depot stores. Now it will expand the service to all PayPal users at 51 Home Depot sites.
