As 2006 draws to a close CCS Insight confidently expects the market will report record levels of activity at almost every point of the market. Operators will have made more money, vendors will have sold more phones and subscribers will have used their phones for both voice and non-voice services more than ever before.
Despite this CCS warns that the future outlook may prove increasingly unpredictable and potentially less profitable. In several years key stakeholders may reflect on 2006 as one of the last years when the relentless growth and profitability cycles grew in mature markets.
