Orange has announced new flat rate data pricing for both prepay and post pay subscribers in order to increase transparency for customers and limit the cost of accessing data services. The new pricing consists of five different packages, three of which are applicable to post pay users and two for prepaid subscribers as set out below.
- Daily browsing for all customers charged at £1 per day
- Packages for prepay subscribers of £5 for seven days of browsing
- Monthly weekend and evening browsing for post pay subscribers at £5
- Anytime browsing for post pay subscribers at £8 per month
- Price cap for all customers who don’t sign up to a bundle. A maximum charge of £1.50 for post pay and £2 a day for prepay subscribers
The new tariffs are subject to a fair usage policy and don’t include the use of peer to peer applications such as instant messaging (IM), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or file sharing.
