Orange Taps into Facebook Explosion with Three Dedicated Phones

News

On 16 November 2011, Orange announced three new mobile phones as part of a partnership with Facebook and Alcatel. The devices — two feature phones and one Android smartphone — have integrated access to Facebook, including a dedicated physical button.

They will be targeted predominantly at the youth market — both existing and new Facebook users. The devices are to be sold in more than 15 emerging and mature markets in Europe and Africa and will be priced at less than €100. They will launch in Romania and Poland before the end of 2011 and in other countries such as France, Spain, Tunisia and Egypt in 2012. The phones will be selectively sold with tariffs that include unlimited access to Facebook.
