Orange/T-Mobile Joint Venture Starts Well, But Faces More Decisions

On 11 May 2010, Orange and T-Mobile unveiled the trading name and the vision for their joint venture in the UK. The merged entity will be known as Everything Everywhere and will officially come into being on 1 July 2010. The Orange and T-Mobile trading brands will remain unchanged for all sales channels.

The new management team will be led by Tom Alexander, CEO of Orange UK. Richard Moat, currently CEO of T-Mobile, will be chief financial officer and deputy chief executive. The rest of the team will comprise 13 executives from Orange and 10 from T-Mobile. New sales roles (indirect, retail and online) have all gone to T-Mobile personnel. Three of the executives previously worked at Virgin Mobile: Andrew Ralston, Gerry McQuade and Steven Day.
