At Nokia's Capital Markets Day on 11 February 2011, CEO Stephen Elop announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft. The announcement highlighted Nokia's use of Windows Phone 7 rather than Symbian as its primary smartphone platform. It also indicated that Nokia will combine its Ovi services with Microsoft offerings such as Bing and Xbox Live. The two companies have yet to sign a final agreement.
