Nokia's Alliance with Yahoo Is All about Scale

On 24 May 2010, Nokia and Yahoo announced an extension to their current partnership, taking it to a "global strategic alliance". Yahoo will use Nokia as the exclusive provider of mapping and navigation services within its online services. Yahoo will become the exclusive global provider of e-mail and instant messaging (IM) for Nokia's Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat services. Both companies will also work toward single-sign on across Yahoo and Ovi services. The first co-branded services from the alliance will be available in the second half of 2010, with global roll-out during 2011. No financial details of the alliance were announced.
