Nokia exceeds expectations and underlines its dominance with rising margins

Nokia announced its Q4 2006 results with highlights including:

  • Fourth quarter shipments of 105.5 million units
  • Growth in operating profit of 12 percent quarter on quarter (excluding special items)
  • Gross margins increased in all business units
  • Strong volume growth in nearly all regions with the notable exception of North America where volumes dropped by nearly 40 percent year on year.
  • Average selling price (ASP) of €89 (compared to €93 in Q3 2006 and €99 in Q4 2005)
