Nokia has added to its recent string of acquisitions with the purchase navigation software company gate5. gate5 offers mapping, routing and navigation solutions for both personal navigation devices (PNDs) and mobile phones. Its solution can also offer city and travel guides for more than 5,000 cities through its relationship with information service provider Wcities.
Nokia stated that it will carry on supporting gate5’s PND customers and will continue to supply multi-platform solutions for Symbian, Linux, Windows Mobile, Palm and Java.
