New entry level handsets from Vodafone launched with focus on growth markets

Vodafone has launched its first own-branded ultra-low cost consumer handsets, the Vodafone 125 and Vodafone 225.

These mobile phones are manufactured by China’s ZTE Corporation and are the result of a global handset procurement agreement signed between the two companies in December 2006 and formally announced at the 3GSM Congress in February 2007 (see CCS Insight 3GSM Event Report: Few announcements from operators with Vodafone grabbing the headlines).
