New Devices and Symbian Update Reflect Nokia's Ongoing Challenges

On 12 April 2011, Nokia unveiled an update to its Symbian mobile software platform, two new Symbian-powered devices and the latest metrics for its Ovi Store.

The updated version of Symbian is known as the Anna release and makes several improvements to its usability, provides additional Exchange ActiveSync policies for business users and incorporates a further update to Nokia Maps that improves search and adds more public transport routes.

Nokia also introduced the E6 and X7 Symbian devices. The X7 is a full-touch device with a four-inch AMOLED display. The E6 is a qwerty-touch successor to the E71 and E72 business-centric devices.
