On 9 February 2010, CCS Insight published the findings of a survey of 5,000 young mobile phone users in Europe's top five markets. The report, Mobile Internet Usage in Europe, 2009, analyses data from interviews conducted in December 2009 with 16- to 35-year-olds in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

The report shows that people use multiple social networks on their mobile phones. Although Facebook dominates in some countries, there is strong support for local players. This is part of a bigger picture — people are bringing their patterns of Web usage from the PC onto mobile phones.
