On 21 June 2011 at an event in Singapore, Nokia announced the N9, its first product running the MeeGo platform. The N9 features a 3.9-inch touch-screen AMOLED display, eight-megapixel camera, near field communication technology and a casing manufactured from a single piece of polycarbonate. The device utilises the Qt framework for third-party application development. The N9's unveiling was accompanied by an update to the Qt software development kit (SDK) to include experimental functionality for developers. The N9 will be available in two memory options — 16GB and 64GB — and is scheduled for launch "later this year".
