Sony Ericsson has launched a Bluetooth Watch (the MBW-100) which it has developed in association with watchmaker Fossil. The watch vibrates when the associated phone receives a call or a text message. It features a one line OLED display which displays the caller ID of the person calling you and displays an envelope icon when a new text message arrives. Other features include the ability to reject inbound calls and to play and pause music as well as skip music tracks.
Nokia has announced a new wireless standard called Wibree. This is a new radio technology pioneered by Nokia’s research and development team which is designed to complement Bluetooth. It is intended to consume less power than Bluetooth and cost less to implement
