Inq Phone Aims to Bring Social Networking to the Mass Market

Hutchison Whampoa launched its Inq subsidiary on 13 November 2008. The division's first mobile phone, named the Inq 1, was launched on the same day. The Inq 1 is a slider phone that uses the BREW operating system and integrates social networking and Internet applications such as Facebook, Last.fm, Skype and Windows Live Messenger. The phone will be available on the 3 network in the UK as a prepaid device for £80 or free on contracts of £15 a month or more. Both tariffs will include unlimited access to the Web and e-mail, unlimited texts and unlimited calls to other users on the 3 network.
