Indian mobile market continues to grow exponentially

News:

Indian operator Bharti Airtel reported that it added 1.31 million customers to its GSM network in August 2006.

New connections in India totalled 5.9 million in August 2006 (up from 5.39 million in July 2006) with more than 4.4 million of those connections coming on GSM networks (the rest were CDMA connections).

This strong growth takes the total market to over 123 million subscribers at the end of August 2006.
