On 19 March 2010, Orange announced that it will launch a mobile games service with HMV, a UK retailer of music, video and games. The service will be available from 26 March, and will offer a catalogue of over 400 games for download to mobile phones on any network. Orange customers will be billed directly for purchases, while users on other networks will pay for games on an individual basis. Prices will start at £1, with new and premium games costing between £3 and £5.
This latest tie-up follows a partnership between the two companies forged in April 2009, which led to the introduction of Orange in-store concessions at selected HMV outlets ahead of Christmas 2009.
