HTC Signals Future Direction as It Unveils New Sense Services

On 15 September 2010 at an event in London HTC unveiled two Android 2.2 Froyo devices, an update to its Sense user interface and the launch of a new online service called HTCSense.com. All products will ship in mid-October 2010.
The HTC Desire HD has a 4.3-inch LCD touch screen, eight-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, 1.5GB of internal memory and a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. The HTC Desire Z is a touch device with a pop-out qwerty keyboard. It has a 3.7-inch Super LCD display, five-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, 1.5GB of internal memory and an 800 MHz Qualcomm processor. Both devices feature HTC's new "fast boot" technology which enables the phone to be switched on and connected to the mobile network in about 10 seconds.
An update to the HTC Sense software was also unveiled. It adds applications such as mapping, an e-book store and e-reader. The company also announced HTCSense.com, a Web-based solution offering a range of services including locating a missing phone, redirecting and backing-up text messages and calls, over-the-air back-up, and downloads of applications, wallpapers and themes.
