France to sell fourth third generation mobile licence next year.

The French telecoms regulator ARCEP has said it plans to sell a fourth 3G UMTS mobile telecom license next year, a move that will introduce a new level of competition between the country's three dominant operators. A total of 21 companies participated in a public consultation on the license, which closed last week.
