Event Report: MIPCOM 2012
MIPCOM 2012 took place in Cannes from 8 to 11 October. Billed as the world's leading content market, the event attracted 13,000 people, about half of whom were content buyers and distributors. According to the organisers, Reed Midem, around 500 of these buyers were focussed on digital distribution. Compared with 2011's event, there was a sizeable increase in the number of attendees from Latin America, up 36 percent, and China, up 30 percent. This report covers the main themes from MIPCOM 2012 and focuses purely on digital distribution of content, rather than the many deals signed at the event.
