BlackBerry ID Hints at RIM's Response to Rivals' Success

On 29 July 2010, Research In Motion (RIM) unveiled a host of improvements to BlackBerry App World. These included new payment options with support for carrier billing and credit card transactions and a revised user interface with tabbed sections for different applications. At the centre of the updates is BlackBerry ID. This provides a device-independent user identification (ID) to enable the new payment options.
