On 2 March 2010 Apple filed a lawsuit against HTC for infringing 20 Apple patents related to the iPhone's user interface, underlying architecture and hardware. The lawsuit was filed in the US with both the US International Trade Commission and in the district court in Delaware.

A statement from HTC indicated that it was unable to comment on the claims as it had not been served with details of the lawsuit.
